Overall, Log Horizon is a good fantasy series that younger audiences may enjoy. One flaw that takes away some of the excitement is that characters can revive after death without any significant consequences, so the character battles can feel flat when you know everyone will ultimately be okay. The characters are likable and some have some good character growth, such as Shiroe, an introverted engineering college student in the real world who is forced to become a reluctant leader in the video game world using his video game knowledge. There's a good amount of action and fighting, but it's much slower than other similar series of the genre where characters have a specific goal that they are rushing to. There is a lot of world building that focuses on characters working together to build a functional society - creating tribes, politics, and how these groups interact with each other. In Log Horizon, characters seem to accept the new video game world as their reality and instead of prioritizing figuring out a way to get home, they instead focus on how to live in this completely new world. This isekai series (one where characters are teleported into a fantasy world) spends a lot of time world building, focusing on the rules, history, geography, and creatures in its fictional world. There are some good role model characters with good intentions, and the series focuses on how to work together with others to make the best of situations. only, instead of bringing presents, he's a murderous psychopath S2, Ep5 1 Nov. Meanwhile, a man in a red coat has come to town. Shiroe is a master strategist, both on the battlefield and in inter-political matters. Language includes "jerkholes," "buttface," "douche bag," "fart knocker," "oh my God," and "ass." In some scenes adult characters drink and smoke inside a bar. Our protagonist is Shiroe, an Enchanter and Scribe who’s determined to remain guildless, though he later forms the Log Horizon guild with a few of his old raiding buddies. In a running joke, he's kneed in the face by his female teammate every time he's about to make a sexual joke. One character is a womanizer and makes a lot of crude statements (e.g., about how he loves "lady bulk" and how "panties are his treasure"). Characters are sometimes killed in battle and small amounts of blood and blood sprays are shown, but because the series takes place in a video game world, characters revive after death. Characters fight in intense battles using medieval weapons and magic. Expect to see some mild fantasy violence. The series centers around a group of friends that get trapped inside a video game world and do their best to help shape this new world they live in. Parents need to know that Log Horizon is a fantasy adventure anime based on the Log Horizon novel series.
